The History of the Taormina family started on the island of Sicily. Back in 1850, in Capaci, Italy, Francesco Taormina with his father, Eustachio , had a trading company.

They sold their goods, Olive Oil almonds wheat, from town to town with their horse driven carts.

They decided to move to a town in Sicily called Partanna; which was known to be the center of Olive oil in Sicily. There business was growing and so was Francesco family, who had 8 children.
Vincenzo the youngest in the family, decided in 1886, to get on a boat and sail to New Orleans in America to establish his business of importing food from Sicily to America. Soon his brothers and sisters followed.This business, in 1925, turns into Progresso.

Quality Foods, one of the largest importers and distributors in North America for Italian foods. The Company was sold in 1969 to Imperial Tobacco of Canada, currently owned by General Mills.

After many generations Roy Taormina and Baldassare Taormina, while living in Italy in a town called Nocera Inferiore, known to be the center for Italian tomatoes, Roy Taormina’s father, Baldassare Taormina, had just with retiered from Progresso foods.

Baldassare with his son Roy Taormina in 1975 started to sell Italian food from Italy to America. In 1989 Roy Taormina moved to New Jersey in America to expand his business. In 2006 to further expand his business, Roy Taormina moved to China from America. In 2014 Roy Taormina moved back to their roots in Sicily to further continue their expansion. Today Roy Taormina is selling their Italian products in many different countries.
